According to Josh Alper of Profootballtalk.com, the Washington Redskins have signed their second running back of the 2013 NFL Draft in Jawan Jamison.
Jamison, the 228th overall pick played his college football at Rutgers.
The seventh-round pick totaled 1,972 yards and 13 touchdowns while playing for the Scarlet Knights.
Jamison joins a long line of running backs Mike Shanahan like to draft in the late rounds that will be expected to produce after 2012 rookie, Alfred Morris.
‘Jamison and Thompson will join Roy Helu and Evan Royster in a scrum for spots on the depth chart behind Alfred Morris in 2013. Jamison will likely be an underdog in that competition, but no one really expected Morris to come out of last summer as the team’s starting running back so that’s relatively insignificant if he can play at the needed levels.’
