The Cleveland Browns' selection of quarterback Brandon Weeden was an about-face by the organization, after previously telling Colt McCoy they would not be looking for another signal caller in the first round. According to ESPN, the 25-year-old former Texas Longhorn is now expected to be on the trading block after the 28-year-old Weeden was picked 22nd overall Thursday night. The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reported the Browns were looking at Baylor wideout Kendall Wright to pair with electrifying rusher Trent Richardson, who they selected at No. 3. But, as often happens during the NFL Draft, the team's front office was forced to abruptly change course when Tennessee grabbed Wright at No. 20. "We liked Kendall and there were a couple of guys that we liked, but a quarterback is a quarterback, which I think that outweighs everything, at least in our opinion," said Browns general manager Tom Heckert, who maintained during the offseason that the team was focused on grabbing playmakers to help McCoy. "Brandon was by far the best player for us. There wasn't really even an afterthought. As soon as a couple of guys went, we knew we were going to take him." McCoy has had a lackluster two seasons in Cleveland after being selected in the third round in 2010. In 21 career starts, he has thrown 20 touchdowns and 20 interceptions, but has been hindered by the offense's lack of big-play ability.
