If there is one thing no team in the NFL can never have enough of, it's pass rushers and the Green Bay Packers are no exception. Outside of Clay Matthews, the team lacks a dominant pass rusher and now that former Packer defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins is back on the market, it could be a great opportunity for the team to add some much-needed juice to its interior pass rush. Jenkins came to the Packers as an un-drafted free agent in 2004 went onto start 66 games in seven seasons with the organization, eventually turning into a key player along the defensive line as he totaled 29 sacks, 188 tackles and six forced fumbles in seven seasons with the team. Following the Packers' 2010 Super Bowl Championship, on which Jenkins was a key member, the former Central Michigan standout, left the team to sign a five-year $25 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. But two seasons and nine and a half sacks later, he was released and is now a free agent. Obviously, the Packers were mentioned as a fit for Jenkins due to his ability to pressure the quarterback and his history with the organization but it has been unclear if the Packers are interested. However, thanks to Jenkins agent and the Green Bay Press-Gazette, we now know that he is open to returning to the team he won a Super Bowl with just two years ago. “He wants to go where he’s going to get an opportunity to play and be a part of a team that has a chance to compete for the Super Bowl,” said Brian Levy, Jenkins’ agent. “I think Green Bay provides him with both those opportunities. Plus he’s been there — I don’t think he wanted to leave in the first place.” It remains to be seen if Jenkins does indeed return to Green Bay. But one thing is for sure: the Packers need pass rushers and Jenkins is one of the best in the game at rushing inside, so as long as the price is right, why wouldn't a team in need of toughness up front be willing to bring him back? It appears the Packers are going to wait and see how the market plays out before offering any contract to Jenkins or former Giants defensive end Chris Canty, who visited the team facility on Wednesday, but don't be surprised if Jenkins or Canty is brought in at some point to add a much needed interior pass rush presence.

Jermichael Finley’s agent says it’s not out of the realm to take a pay cut

Jermicheal Finley’s agent Blake Baratz did some damage control to keep his client comfy in Green Bay. Green Bay Packers: Team Needs in the 2013 NFL Draft

As we continue the Team Needs series for the 2013 NFL Draft, we proceed to the team with the twenty-sixth overall pick; the Green Bay Packers. It was just another double digit victory season and another division crown for the Pack. Unfortunately, the beating they took in the second round of the postseason is all that anyone will remember of their 2012 campaign. Aaron Rodgers once...

Packers legend Taylor living well at age 77

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It's been 46 years since Jim Taylor last stepped on the field in a Green Bay Packers uniform. Ranking The Rookies: Jerron McMillian

Fourth-round safety played more than expected last season The Green Bay Packers began the season with 10 rookies on the 53-man roster. That’s a pretty high number – especially for a team than won 15 games the previous year. But GM Ted Thompson didn’t hang on to all those rookies to save money or to make himself look good. He kept them because they could play. In fact, seven...

Can Packers afford to stay the course?

NFL free agency is not an event in Green Bay. Drama and anticipation don't exist when nearly every offseason concludes with a lack of noteworthy results. Since Ted Thompson took over as general manager of the Packers in 2005, he has mostly sat back and planned for the draft while many of his peers spend tens of millions of dollars on free agents. That's just not the Ted...

Packers Can Cut Finley With Little Worry

If Dustin Keller signs with the packers, we will anoint him as “Toolbox Too”. Get it?….like Teenwolf Too? Get It? it’s funny….like a big foam cowboy hat. Funny. It is obvious that Jermichael Finley does not fit the “Packer People” tune that Mike McCarthy sings.   With the departure of Donald Driver and impending departure of Greg Jennings, Packer nation is feeling...
