"I think we have a reputation in this league as being a tremendous defense and we didn't play that way. As far as us quitting, there's no way. That wasn't the case. Jets head coach Rex Ryan addressed Rogers’ comments today.
“I think when you look at it, certainly we didn’t play well, it’s obvious we didn’t play well to his standards, either,” Ryan said. “I think we have a reputation in this league as being a tremendous defense and we didn’t play that way. As far as us quitting, there’s no way. That wasn’t the case.
“I think it does show that other teams expect a lot out of this defense but obviously not more than we expect from ourselves.”
During last Sunday’s blow out I’m sure many of the Jets’ defenders didn’t want to be on the field any longer.

With Mark Sanchez playing his way out of the starting job in New York, Rex Ryan was not pleased with any aspect of his team's play, including their vaunted Wildcat attack.

Carlos Rogers believes the Jets quit during the team's blowout loss to San Francisco, adding that the Jets defense looked like it "didn’t want to be out there."
Carlos Rogers’ comments about the Jets quitting on Sunday made their way to Jets coach Rex Ryan. And of course, Ryan responded. Because that’s what Rex Ryan does.
At any rate, Ryan contends that “there’s no way” that the Jets quit in their 34-0 loss to 49ers. Yes, the Jets were outplayed. And yes, the Jets didn’t play up to his standards. But when it comes to quitting...

Carlos Rogers, the San Francisco 49ers cornerback who returned Santonio Holmes' fumble 51 yards for a touchdown, had a theory why his team crushed the New York Jets 34-0 on Sunday. Rogers thinks Gang Green's defense packed it in early.

"It's a screen. It's the way it's supposed to be. You invite the rush and you throw it right over them. He made a pretty good play. Things keep getting worse for the New York Jets. First, Darrelle Revis, arguably the league's best CB goes down and is done for the season. Then they get absolutely beat down by the 49ers on Sunday, and now they learn that receiver Santonio Holmes will be out for the rest of the season, not a few weeks as many thought. Although is was floated around as a possibility, no one...
According to Brian Costello of the New York post, during an interview with Sirius XM Radio, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers said that he got the feeling the Jets defense didn’t want to be on the field anymore during last week’s blow out.
“It kinda seemed like, after a while they just, I know, looking at their defense, they didn’t want to be out there,” said...
