Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III admitted that he wasn’t the same player against the Eagles because of his knee injury.  He expects to have more freedom during this week’s game against the Cowboys. “The knee is fine. Whatever I feel like I can do on that day, I will,” said Griffin, who on Wednesday was voted to his first Pro Bowl. “I’ll be able to do more, to answer your question. I won’t dodge it. I’ll be able to do more against the Cowboys than Philly, but we’ll see how that goes.” Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan agreed. He acknowledged that he and his staff took a more conservative approach against the Eagles as a precaution, but said Griffin certainly could have handled a more expanded role. “No. 1, when you do have an LCL, and when you have that type of sprain and it’s a first degree, you don’t want to — first week back, you don’t want to put him into a normal game plan, and you want to protect him a little bit,” Shanahan said. “I still think he was full-speed ready to go. We just chose not to put him in that situation. I think as every day goes, and you see somebody more comfortable, you have a gut feel when you can do everything. I really felt like i could’ve done that against Philly. We just chose not to.” I think the Redskins will have Griffin run with the ball more than last week, but I don’t expect him to get as many carries as he’s been getting week in and week out before he got injured.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";
