The Saints Nation:
I'm a little late to the party on this but I wanted to at least acknowledge the recent roster activity. The Saints have signed the following players to "futures contracts" that will allow these guys to compete in camp next season:
WR Preston Parker
DE Jay Richardson
DE Braylon Broughton
WR Jarred Fayson
G Ryan Lee
DB Ryan Steed
WR Andy Tanner
The first two are new signings while the latter five have been with the team at some point (either camp or practice squad).

Sean Payton's contract extension has been a huge relief and added some future stability to a team that had anything but that during this 7-9 season. With the season officially over, I've included below all the player GPAs for the season. I will be announcing my player awards for the season this week as well, but before I do that you'll get a good sense of who will win what based on these final grades. Perhaps my grading was a little harsher than last year, but you'll see the difference between a 13-3 team and a 7...

The New Orleans Saints signed wide receiver Preston Parker to a futures contract on Thursday. Parker worked out for the Saints in October.
He caught 44 passes for 596 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2010 and 2011. He played two games for the Buccaneers this season but did not record a catch, rushing one time for 7 yards.
"Whatever gets the competitive juices flowing" says Drew Brees in the snippet that aired on NFL Network today promoting this week's airing of the previously produced special: America's Game: 2009 Saints. The choice to replay the piece this coming Monday seems a bit off, particularly as it airs on the NFL's flag ship station. As we know, Roger Goodell and many...
