The 49ers needed this game yesterday to secure the #2 spot in the NFC Playoffs and earn a bye in the first round.  They had to pull out all of the stops as the Rams took them to the wire, unexpectedly.  Alex Smith was solid in this game as he completed 21 of 31 passes for 219 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 5 times for 4 yards (0.8 ypc) with 1 TD run.  Kicker David Akers hit WR Michael Crabtree with a 14-yard TD pass on a fake field goal as head coach Jim Harbaugh was pulling out all the stops yesterday.  Kendall Hunter led the way on the ground for the Niners in this game with 16 carries for 76 yards (4.8 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 11 yards (5.5 avg).  Anthony Dixon finished up with 21 yards rushing on 8 carries (2.6 ypc) with 1 TD carry in this game.  TE Vernon Davis (8 receptions for 118 yards) and WR Michael Crabtree (9 rec, 92 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Niners yesterday.  The 49ers finished up with 110 yards rushing o...
