The Cowboys use a lot of rotation on their defense, with 4 players all playing more than 243 snaps at 3-4 defensive end. Those 4 players were Jason Hatcher, Kenyon Coleman, Marcus Spears, and Sean Lissemore. Lissemore only played 243 snaps, but he played the best of the four last year according to ProFootballFocus, as he had a 13.4 rating. In fact, he might be one of the league’s best kept secrets, an very underrated and underutilized player. According to the Dallas Morning News, it “seems certain” that Lissemore, a 2010 7th round pick out of William & Mary, will have an expanded role in 2012. Lissemore isn’t that great of a pass rusher, but he graded out 3rd at his position against the run, behind only Ray McDonald and Glenn Dorsey, on the strength of 18 solo tackles, 8 assists and 16 stops on just 119 run defense snaps, while missing only 2 tackles. He also played all over the line, both end spots and another 40 snaps at nose tackle. We’ll see if the added playing time will he...

WR Dez Bryant Could Have A Breakthrough Season For The Cowboys

It is wildly agreed that Dez Bryant is the most physically talented player on the Cowboys, and possibly one of the most gifted players in the NFL. However, if you take all those other players on that list and look at their off the field issues, they all would rank above Bryant. Dez didn’t play bad last season, as he totaled 928 yards on 63 receptions, and he also had nine touchdowns...

Dallas Cowboys 2012 NFL Season Preview

Offense It’s always one thing or another with these Cowboys. They started 7-4, but finished at 8-8 and out of the playoffs after dropping two games to the Giants in 4 weeks, losing the 1st one when Miles Austin lost a wide open touchdown in the sun and failed to catch it. In that game, they blew a 12 point lead to lose by 3, 37-34. In addition to 2 losses to the Giants, the Cowboys...

The NFL is "watering down" black out policy (and trying to enhance in-stadium experience)

A Wall Street Journal report surfaced on Saturday that the NFL was willing to relax a nearly 40-year old television blackout policy, which prevents fans from watching their hometown team within a 75-mile radius of the stadium, if the game fails to sell out 72 hours before kickoff. The National Football League clearly understands enough that while the home experience, the enhanced...
