I missed all of the first half and most of the second half of this one preparing for Frankstorm, but the Steelers defense put down another dominant performance at Heinz Field, where they've only lost once since the start of the 2011 season. The Steelers suffocated Robert Griffin III in a 27-12 win. RGIII was being called the "best player in football" by some heading into this week and the Steelers made him look like a confused rookie QB. RGIII completed only 47% of his passes, in large part because his receivers dropped a lot of catchable passes. Griffin's ability to run the ball was perhaps most concerning for the Steelers heading into the tilt, but Griffin's longest run on the day was only 7 yards and he finished the afternoon with a paltry 8 yards on 6 carries. While Washington's offense sputtered, the Steelers' unit put on a clinic. Ben Roethlisberger tossed 3 more touchdown passes and is quietly having a career year. He's not making the mistakes that have often plagued him in the past. Jonathan Dwyer looked up to the task of being a starting RB in the NFL, rushing for 107 yards on just 17 carries. Dwyer has had back-to-back 100 yard rushing games and is the first Steelers to accomplish that since Willie Parker in 2008. All of a sudden, the Steelers are back in 2nd place in the AFC North, just a game behind a banged up Ravens team that we have yet to play. Those two contest will likely determin the division winner. The Steelers can't look too far ahead though, as the team travels to New York to face the defending Super Bowl champion Giants next Sunday.
