Steelers showing interest in new position at NFL Combine

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't been shy in expressing their interest in offensive linemen to begin the offseason. However, there's another position the team is starting to pay close attention to.

That position is inside linebacker and Pittsburgh has already met with three inside linebackers in Indianapolis and have a meeting scheduled with a fourth.

It's unlikely the Steelers will use pick No. 17 to address the position, but Nos. 32, 49 and 80 are all viable.

Pittsburgh does need to address the group after it combined for just one sack and zero interceptions, forced fumbles or fumble recoveries in 2022.

The team is likely to lose LB Devin Bush as the former first-rounder never panned out after tearing his ACL. Linebacker Robert Spillane is also set to hit the open market, leaving linebackers Myles Jack and Mark Robinson left to start.

Jack is turning 28 and entering the final year of his deal in 2023 while Robinson is a seventh-round pick from the 2022 NFL Draft and has been viewed as more of a project after making the switch from running back to linebacker in college.

The Steelers haven't been the same at the position after losing Ryan Shazier to his spinal injury in 2017. Maybe one of the rookies in this year's draft class can help turn things around in Pittsburgh.
