Well, it looks like the New York Jets will send Tim Tebow packing after this season, and the other team that was in the running for his services last season, looks to bring him in, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. So much so that Mortensen has called it “a virtual certainty” that Tebow is a Jaguar next season. He says owner Shad Khan, who wanted Tim last year as the Denver Broncos had him on the trading block, still would love to have him in Jacksonville. And with no other teams showing interest in him, Kahn will likely get his man. The move would bring Tebow back to Florida and fill seats at Jacksonville, something that certainly appeals to the Kahn. Tim Tebow just may go home again. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that it’s “a virtual certainty” that Tim Tebow will play with the Jacksonville Jaguars next year. According to Mortensen, Jaguars owner Shad Khan still has interest in the former Florida Gator since neither Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert have failed to live up to expectations. Jacksonville would reportedly hold an ”open competition...

Jaguars activate linebacker Daryl Smith

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have activated linebacker Daryl Smith from injured reserve and placed safety Dwight Lowery on IR with a foot injury. Smith likely will start Sunday's game against New England. Smith missed the first 14 games of the season because of a groin injury. He was placed on IR on Oct. 25, with the designation to return. He returned...

Cecil Shorts Suffered Concussion vs. Patriots

Jacksonville wideout Cecil Shorts suffered a concussion Sunday against the Patriots.Fantasy Spin:We doubt Jacksonville would risk reinjuring one of their best players in a meaningless Week 17 game so this is probably the last we'll see of Shorts this season. Assuming he's done for the year, Shorts will finish the 2012 campaign with a career-high 979 yards on 55 catches.

Mike Mularkey Says Patriots Broke Rules at Goal Line Forcing Zach Potter to Jump Offsides

It’s not new to accuse the Patriots of breaking the rules. Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey is blaming the Patriots’ goal line tactics for his tight end, Zach Potter, jumping offsides late in the fourth quarter as Jacksonville was facing a 3rd-and-goal situation on the Patriots’ one-yard line down by seven. Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne was sacked on the next play by Dont’a...

Chad Henne Tops 300 Yards vs. Patriots

Jacksonville quarterback Chad Henne produced an impressive yardage total Sunday against New England (348 yards on 51 attempts) but his three interceptions put a damper on the afternoon.Fantasy Spin:To Henne's credit, not all of the miscues were his fault. One of the picks came on a desperation heave at the end of the game and the Jaguars receiving corps had butter fingers all...

MJD Won't Return Week 16

Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) didn't practice and is out to play Sunday against the Patriots, according to the Jaguars' website.Fantasy Spin:We consider him doubtful for Week 17 as well since it doesn't pay for either side to risk re-injury. Jones-Drew will likely be seeking a contract extension again in the offseason and Jacksonville will need its star...

The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed running back Jonathan Grimes off waivers from Houston. Grimes played in nine games this season, six with the Texans and three with the New York Jets. He carried twice for 6 yards with the Jets. The Jaguars needed depth at running back. Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) and Rashad Jennings (concussion/shoulder) are out Sunday against New England, and...

Jaguars fade late in close loss to Patriots

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Coming off consecutive prime-time games at home and facing one of the NFL's worst teams on the road, the New England Patriots were poised for a letdown. They surely didn't expect a near meltdown. Tom Brady overcame a rough start by throwing two touchdown passes, and the Patriots held on to beat the woeful Jacksonville Jaguars 23-16 on Sunday....

Tim Tebow & The Jacksonville Jaguars: A Great Play!

St. Johns County is part of the Greater Jacksonville area where Tim Tebow played high school football. Allen D. Nease High School was the school that Tebow attended while growing up around Ponte Vedra Beach in Jacksonville, Florida. As a high school Senior, Tebow was one of the highest prospects as a quarterback. The return of Tim Tebow would bring fans to an NFL game in Florida...

Keys To Victory vs. The Jaguars

I want to see the fire from Brady regardless of the opponentEach week there is a new gameplan, a new formula for victory. Each week certain aspects of the game just loom larger than the rest. The idea is not to divine the course of the contest, but to highlight the match-ups and intangibles that I'll have my eye on during the broadcast. 1. A Pissed-Off Brady - I have always thought...

Lead writer Nick St. Denis and AFC East Daily contributors Dan Begnoche and Sean Donovan pick the New England Patriots' road matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.Nick's take:Upset Alert: Just kidding. Cecil Shorts, who leads the AFC in yards per reception, is up against a Patriots defense that has given up the league's most passing plays of 20 yards or more. That'...
