Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was a guest on Jim Rome's show today acknowledging that his arm is not quite the same as it was when he was 22.

“I still have strength to recover, still have work to do,” Manning said. “I am 36 years old. My arm has a lot of yards and a lot of touchdowns on it, so it’s probably not going to be the same as it was when it was 22, but I still think it can complete some passes. I can move the chains and hopefully get our offense into the end zone this year.”

This could be Manning being humble and realistic for a QB of his age, or he's already started making excuses for a season that hasn't even started.

Questions of whether Peyton's neck will make it through the entire season had us telling Denver 'buyer beware' as they dropped an absurd amount of money on the free agent of the decade.

Manning has had multiple neck surgeries, but he's not talking about his neck. He'd rather talk about his arm and how losing arm strength is just a function of getting older.

Broncos fans are also hoping he can "move the chains and hopefully get their offense into the end zone this year", or they might just be longing for Tebow time.
