The Wayne Fontes Experience:
Per the Lions own press release:
The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed unrestricted free agent CB Dante Wesley to a two-year deal. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.
Wesley's claim to fame, so to speak, was as a Panthers special teams player for the Lions' new special teams coordinator, Danny Crossman. Wesley does add depth to the backfield, but that's not why he was signed.
He's in Detroit to help restore the Lions inept coverage teams to something that resembles respectability.
Good luck with that, guys. You will need it, trust me.
