Chicago Bears Football – It was not a good year for the Chicago Bears defense. In fact, it was a terrible year. Running backs did cartwheels across our defensive line, while wide receivers blew past the safeties and quarterbacks danced away from some sacks. Still, it was not all so bad. There are some players who are certain that they will return. These include key cogs like Tim Jennings and Lance Briggs. Another defensive player who’s future is up in the air is Corey Wootton. When he was drafted in 2010 he was drafted to an outstanding defense. It was a good year for the Chicago Bears and a very good year for Corey Wootton. Even though he only played in six games, one of those games was when he eneded the career of the notorious Brett Farve.  If nothing else stands out in his career with the Chicago Bears at least this hit will. Yet something does still stand out with Wootton. The 2013 season was possibly his best year as far as overall defense is concerned and he spent the majority of it playing out of position filling in for the Bears’ depleted defensive line. He recorded 28 solo tackles and three sacks. All of this while, again, he was moved from his natural position of defensive end to tackle in the 2013 season.  This season showed that he can be both versatile and useful in other positions on the defensive line. This helps especially if the Chicago Bears do decide to try some hybrid defense. All of this may be working against the Bears as Rotoworld says that he will have plenty of other offers after recovering from hip surgery in January. As he is only 26-years-old, he has plenty of his career lying ahead of him. If the Chicago Bears are ready to commit to Corey Wootton, the player who has consistently been an asset, then they are going to have to speak up soon. The player who knocked out Brett Farve certainly deserves a future with this team. ————  Photo: Wiki   Author informationBobby RiahiFeatured Chicago Bear's Columnist at Sports Mockery"Long time writer, Dedicated Bears Fan, Amateur cool kid"FacebookGoogle+The post The Future of Chicago Bears Defense: Corey Wootton appeared first on Sports Mockery.
