Christian Ponder and the Minnesota Vikings played well against the defending champs Sunday but the result was as expected: another win for the undefeated Green Bay Packers. Despite the loss, Minnesota should be happy with the way Ponder played. He took command of the offense and put up points on Green Bay’s defense almost mounting a comeback in the fourth quarter. The ten points Minnesota scored in the fourth quarter was their best fourth quarter output of the season so far and shrunk Green Bay’s lead down to six. Green Bay’s defense forced the Vikings to punt on their last possession. Then Green Bay would covert three first downs to run out the clock and prevent Ponder from completing the comeback resulting in the 33-27 final score. The 27 points scored was the second most points the Vikings have scored all season. Although his completion percentage was poor and he threw two picks to Charles Woodson, overall he showed he could make plays with both his arm and his feet.
