The Saints dug a giant hole that no one thought they could come out of.  Are they going to prove everyone wrong? After going a red hot 13-1 in week 11, I went 2-1 on Thanksgiving day.  For the season that makes it 106-57.  I'm still in striking distance of .750 for the season. Let's take a look at week 12. Minnesota at Chicago - The Vikings are coming off their bye week to face a Bears team that got destroyed last week by the 49ers.  The Vikings started off hot but lost several games after Ponder started to turn the ball over.  A weeks rest will help AP with his recovery and he'll be fresh to run the ball.  If Ponder can manage the game against the Bears defense the Vikings will win this game. The Bears were embarrassed last week on the national stage.  Everyone got to see why Cutler is always so mad at his offensive line, they're terrible.  Cutler covers up so many issues on offense it's crazy.  Anyone that criticized Cutler for his actions ag...

Drew Brees feels Saints defense is coming together at the right time

New Orleans started out the season at 0-4 and has fought back to a 5-5 record, a three-game winning streak, and winning five of its last six games. The fallout from bounty gate is slowing going away, and the Saints are getting their groove back. Sunday the Saints have their biggest game of the year against the San Francisco 49ers. Drew Brees has thrown for 3,066 yards and 28...

Q&A with Saints guard Jahri Evans

Of all the NFL's elite players, few have traveled a more curious path than New Orleans Saints right guard Jahri Evans. He attended a Division II program -- Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania -- on an academic scholarship. He never played organized football until reaching high school. Even then, Evans was forced to miss his senior season because of an injury. And now? Evans...

Saints RB Sproles probable vs. 49ers

New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles is listed as probable to start against the visiting San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Sproles has missed the last three games after having surgery to repair a broken hand. Mark Ingram, Chris Ivory and Pierre Thomas have been combining for carries in place of Sproles.

Vilma upset over hearings schedule

Saints linebacker Jon Vilma says he's disappointed that the new schedule for bounty hearings virtually prevents him from being able to personally confront his accusers. Vilma says he wanted to be present for witness interviews with former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and former defensive assistant Mike Cerullo, who assisted the NFL's investigation into the...

Rookie RT Harris braces for elite 49ers defense

Saints rookie right tackle Bryce Harris is so grateful to have a chance to play in the NFL he isn't about to complain about the timing of his first career start, which is likely to come this Sunday against a San Francisco defense featuring some of the best pass-rushers in the NFL. ''I'm just glad to have the opportunity to start,'' Harris said following practice...

Saints poised following early adversity

There will never be normalcy for the 2012 New Orleans Saints. Not without an end in sight to the bounty scandal that surfaced in the offseason. Not with an interim head coach replacing the suspended Sean Payton and the questions that have developed about the latter's future in New Orleans. Not following an 0-4 start that has the Saints scrambling to become only the second...

The New Orleans Saints are back in the playoff hunt after an 0-4 start, and nobody should really be surprised.

In a rematch with the team that eliminated the Saints from the 2011 postseason, the Saints will this time host an incredibly good 49ers team in what figures to be a game between two hot teams. The Saints will without question need their very best to have any chance at being successful against an opponent that is complete in every facet of the game. The 49ers have very few weaknesses...

Offensive Game Grades: Week 11 vs. New Orleans

It was expected to be a shootout between the Oakland Raiders and the New Orleans Saints last Sunday, when the teams collided at the O.Co Coliseum. Well, at least one side did their part and, unfortunately for the Raider Nation, it wasn’t the Silver & Black. The offense led by Carson Palmer could not keep up with Drew Brees and [...]
