If anyone doubted Peyton Manning, they had better put them away as the Sheriff is back in town.

Manning saw his Broncos get behind and completely outplayed in the first half, trailing 24-0 and no hope in sight, but like in other games this season, the “Sheriff” as people call Manning, stepped up and took the team on his back… again as the Broncos along with 6 Charger turnovers won with 35 unanswered points to win 35-24.

Manning, nicknamed the Sheriff because he comes into town and takes over, is coming off several neck procedures in the past 18 months, and was thought to be on the back nine, a high medical risk with limited arm strength. Manning signed in the off-season after a highly publicized skill session, with the Denver Broncos for five years and $96 million contract.

Manning had to get familiar with a new team, personnel groups and wide receivers, but with the help of long time friend, WR Brandon Stokley, he has started to show the flashes of old. The Broncos have had to come back many times this season as they have fallen behind in the following games

Fell behind Pittsburgh 19-14, but won 31-19

Fell behind 27-7, and almost came back and won in Atlanta 27-17

Fell behind the Houston Texans 31-11 and almost brought them back but lost 31-25

Only game they stayed ahead and won going away vs. Oakland 37-6

Fell behind the Patriots 31-7, but failed in the comeback 31-21

And noted above fell behind San Diego 24-0, won 35-24 in his biggest comeback ever

Manning is back in the swing of things as he has thrown for over 300 yards in the last four games and over 1,800 yards this season, along with 14 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions for a QB rating well over 100 and second behind Aaron Rodgers.

Whoever in the league bets against him, had better cough up their money because Peyton is collecting as they go into their bye week.
