Last year during the preseason, John Harbaugh brought Muhammad Ali to camp to help inspire his Ravens players for the season ahead — and it worked out Super. This season, the head coach brought in another special guest, only this time he went in a more lighthearted direction.
Comedian Tracy Morgan stopped in for a visit to Ravens camp on Saturday, surprising the Ravens’ players with what was likely tons of fun and plenty of laughs. The defending Super Bowl champs were all sorts of excited to spend some time with the funny man and former 30 Rock headliner.
Players like wide receiver Torrey Smith and defensive lineman Bryan Hall were so stoked that they were tweeting about Morgan’s visit. Fullback Vonta Leach and defensive lineman Marcus Spears even posted photos with Morgan to show their excitement. Then again, maybe the players were so excited because, not so coincidentally, Morgan’s visit also meant they were given the day off from practice. Either way, Morgan clearly roused their spirits, which might be necessary after a long, grueling training camp.
We’ll see if Morgan’s visit has the same sort of Super effect that Ali’s did last season. Harbaugh can only hope.
Check out photos of Leach and Spears with Morgan below.
