Nike released a new advertisement titled “Calvin and Johnson” on YouTube this morning featuring the Detroit Lions wide receiver and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.
The ad depicts Johnson separating into two personas “Calvin” and “Johnson,” where his first-name focuses on football and last-name focuses on the fame. It is the latest in a long string of ads featuring Detroit Lions players, a change from decades past that rarely had advertisements with Lions players in them. This Nike spot finishes telling the watcher to “unleash speed.”
What do you think? Pass or fail?

One should not put much weight in any preseason game. When going against a team like the depleted Buffalo Bills in the last game before the regular season, gaining any sort of valuable information is like trying to draw blood from a skeleton.
With that said I am getting out the 16 gauge needle...
ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions have been the perfect example of how turnover margin is the most telling statistic on who wins and losses football games.
The Lions ranked third among 16 NFC teams in turnover margin at plus-11 in 2011 when they finished 10-6 and went to the playoffs.
A year ago, they were 15th in the conference -- and 30th out of 32 teams in the NFL -- with...
