After the ball clunked off of the cross bar and went forward, David Akers tied the NFL record for the longest field goal at 63 yards. His reaction was priceless, as was those of his teammates. Not only did they act like he helped them win the Super Bowl, but he looked completely shocked. The video is below:

David Akers of the San Francisco 49ers tied the NFL record for longest field goal when he hit a 63-yard field goal to end the half to put the 49ers up 16-7 over the Green Bay Packers. David Akers joined the ranks of Tom Dempsey (1970), Jason Elam (1998), and Sebastian Janikowski (2011) for the record of longest NFL field goal. You can view the video below.

David Akers made it into the record books by tying the NFL record for longest field goal at 63 yards.
San Francisco 49ers kicker David Akers bounced a ball off the crossbar and through the uprights from 63 yards just before halftime, tying an NFL record in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
Akers hit a low line drive that caromed off the crossbar and kept going forward instead of bouncing back onto the field. A wide-eyed Akers raised his arms in triumph...
Two years ago, we saw Oakland Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski tie an NFL record with a 63-yard field goal against the Denver Broncos.
Well, it looks like that San Francisco 49ers kicker David Akers can add his name to that elusive club as he drained a 63-yard field goal against the Green Bay Packers with a little help from the uprights:
