The Minnesota Vikings wrapped up Week 2 of training camp this week as they prepared for their preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. Here's a look at five questions heading into the second preseason tilt.Is Ponder ready for Prime Time?QB Christian Ponder went 1 for 2 with an interception in the first preseason game against the Texans, but we'll get a longer look this week against the Bills. The 1's will play into the second quarter, and rumor has it that Ponder has looked solid in practice all week. Ponder has been anointed as the starting QB for the upcoming season, but he will need to show marked improvement, especially in the deep passing game in the next two preseason games to allay the fears of the fan base. With the third preseason game being a featured match up against the San Francisco 49ers, Ponder needs to show up big to keep the Matt Cassel backers at bay. Will Xavier Rhodes make an impact?Rookie CB Xavier Rhodes was dinged up into the first preseason game, but he is on track to play on Friday night. The Vikings jettisoned CB Antoine Winfield in the off season, so they will be leaning on Rhodes to make a big impact as they face off against Brandon Marshall and Calvin Johnson in their division collisions this season. Rhodes has looked the part on the practice field when he has been able to play, but his first NFL competition will give fans an idea if this rookie will be able to elevate the Vikings secondary to the next level. Is John Carlson Back to form at tight end?Last year, Carlson was all but invisible for the Vikings, fighting through injuries as Kyle Rudolph had a Pro-Bowl year. This year, Carlson is healthy and he has been a solid target for the Vikings QBs in training camp, and looks to expand the Vikings passing attack. If Carlson can return to any where near his 2009 form, the Vikings might have the best TE tandem in the NFL this season. Will Adrian Peterson suit up?Last season, Adrian Peterson was recovering from an ACL injury, and he didn't see a single snap in the preseason. He still managed to score two touchdowns in the first game of the season against the Jaguars, and managed to take down the league MVP as well. The Vikings coaching staff has been non-committal about Peterson's involvement in the preseason this year, but look for Adrian to suit up on Friday night for at least one series on Friday night to give Ponder a look at how defenses will change up their coverage when AP is in the backfield. Is Erin Henderson the answer at middle Linebacker?LB Erin Henderson bulked up over the off season, and he's been expecting the nod at middle linebacker since offseason workouts. The Vikings signed former Packer Desmond Bishop as a free agent, and many expected Bishop to challenge Henderson for the position, but Bishop is now in danger of not even making the team. With the first team defense facing a talented every down back in CJ Spiller this Friday, this is the time for Henderson to step up and make a difference.
