Vince Wilfork is the heart and soul of the New England Patriots defense. His sheer size necessitates double-teams from opposing offensive lines and opens up pass-rushing lanes for his teammates.
Most of his contributions involve taking on bodies and stuffing the run. However, he made a couple of flashy interceptions in the 2011 season.
One of his efforts was named one of the top defensive plays of the season in a video compiled by the National Football League on its official website.
The video's highlights focus primarily on athletic interceptions, among them one where Tom Brady fell victim to a return for a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills.
Since an interception from a man of Wilfork's role is a rare occasion, let alone so impressive a catch, it is nice to see the big man get his props from the league.
Let's see what he does for an encore in 2012!
