On the board for 2012. It was a tale of two halves in this game. The first half gave every indication that the Steelers were going to find a way to lose to an obviously inferior opponent. Then, offensively and defensively, the Steelers flipped the switch in the second and dominated the Jets en route to a 17 point victory which is one point more than the point differential in the last four meeting between these two teams combined. Steelers Offense vs. Jets Defense: It is extremely obvious just how important Darrelle Revis is to the Jets’ defense. The only problem is that the Steelers waited until the second half to realize it. For a large portion of the first half, the Steelers were bent on establishing the run and the way they tried to do it was bad. First off, Jonathan Dwyer who was their best back in the opener against Denver didn’t see the field until late in the second quarter. They ran an end around to Antonio Brown on a third and long which worked but was a questionable dec...

Ryan Clark, Ike Taylor outlast bad officiating in Steelers win

As a fan, I’ve been somewhat tolerant of the NFL Replacement Officials this season. After all, these are mainly college officials from smaller schools thrust into the limelight under a ton of pressure. Every missed call can turn the outcome of game upside down potentially. Having said that, things have gotten worse rather than better through the first 2 weeks of the regular season...

Instant Reaction – Disappointing Jets Fall To 1-1

It was going to be a tall order for the New York Jets in Pittsburgh, against a desperate 0-1 team particularly without Darrelle Revis, Dustin Keller and Bryan Thomas in the line-up. However, there are no excuses for how the Jets lost today. Dropped passes. Muffed punts. Porous tackling. Questionable coaching decisions. The game was there for the taking and the Jets put forth a sloppy...

Steelers Monday evening quarterback

fter watching the game live, then watching it again on replay,  I have determined that I need to make a statement about Big Ben.  Although I do not care for him outside the field, he has learned to do more than just play back yard football.   He played extremely well yesterday, and I think it is time I acknowledge that fact.  Ben distributed the ball to 10 receivers on Sunday...

Jets sign WR Pollard to practice squad, release WR Arukwe

The New York Jets signed wide receiver Royce Pollard to the practice squad and released wide receiver Stanley Arukwe from the practice squad, the team announced Monday. Pollard joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent in May. He was waived in August and added to the practice squad Sept. 2. He was released from the practice last Wednesday. The Jets signed Arukwe in August and...

Is Tebow Time Ready To Take On Broadway?

The second the Jets pulled the trigger on trading for Tim Tebow, it was only a matter of time before these articles started being written – and based on Sanchez’s performance on Sunday, he only managed to make it till the end of Week 2. Mark Sanchez was able to keep the Tebow conversation quiet after a stellar Week 1 performance, but Week 2 may serve as a wake-up call for all...

The steel curtain falls

It looked like the Jets were going to continue where they left off from week 1 against the Buffalo Bills when they took their first possession down field for what looked like an easy touchdown when Sanchez hit Holmes for six.  Then the Steelers made adjustments and that was the end of that optimism. The Jets seemed to lose focus and make mistakes that came at critical parts...
