You have to love passion and fired-up players. However, according to many Giants faithful, Martellus Bennett may be a bit too much. To be honest, Bennett has loads of potential, but has yet to use any of it. So when he went off on the question about the Dallas Cowboys yesterday, some people started to worry that the Giants have their own version of Freddie Mitchell. If you remember him, he was a wide receiver for the Eagles when he claimed that Rodney Harrison wasn’t any good. Well, Mitchell was a guy who just ran his mouth and was never able to back it up, will Bennett do the same?   Martellus Bennett (U.S. Department of Defense/Wikimedia) I don’t believe so, and I tell you what, except Bennett to have a great year! He is been waiting for this opportunity for years, and believe me; he will not let this slip through his fingers. He wants to prove everyone wrong, especially the Cowboys. Here is what Bennett Said: “I just want to kick those guys’ [butts]. That’s what it’s all about. We’re cool, but we ain’t that cool. I’ve kind of got some ill feelings toward them overall,” Bennett said. “But it’s a game. Every game is the same where I kind of hate everybody, honestly, in the NFL.” In recent years the Giants aren’t typically out spoken, maybe, this is just what they need. The rest of the league will be gunning for them, and they need to fight back. A few years ago after they won the Super Bowl the Giants couldn’t handle the pressure that comes with the responsibilities of a repeat. Maybe, if they had a guy Like Bennett one who likes to fire up his players, it would have been different. Well, regardless Bennett is out spoken and correct me if I am wrong, aren’t most New Yorkers that way? He will fit in quite nicely. Let’s just hope Bennett’s passion isn’t his Achilles heel.
