Brad Marchand is affectionately known as the “Little Ball of Hate” around Boston. He is sure to have many more colorful nicknames elsewhere if you ask fans in other cities. The Bruins forward has made a living in the postseason drawing the ire of opposing teams and fanbases alike, and the 2013 campaign has been no different. This time, it has been the Rangers’ Derick Brassard who has been the focus of much mischief, although Marchand has done a good job of staying out of trouble for the most part against New York. MSG broadcaster John Giannone joined the Bruins Face-Off LIVE crew before Game 5 to discuss Marchand’s play against the Blueshirts so far in the series. Bruins Close Out Rangers 3-1, Meet Penguins for ECF

A legend grew, a monkey was tossed off a back and a city sighed in relief.  Such is the existence of a sports team in Boston. In his best game of the series, Rask stood on his head, made huge save after...

Claude Julien Continues to Embrace Pressure of Coaching in Boston As Achievements Mount

BOSTON — It was only one loss, but given the head coach’s track record, thoughts of another all-time historic meltdown started to creep into the minds of fans and pundits alike. It is, of course, absurd to think that a team with a 3-0 series lead is doomed after that series lead becomes 3-1, but not all teams have blown 3-0 series leads before. The Bruins under Claude Julien...

Tuukka Rask Rebounds From Game 4 Gaffe by Making Game-Saving Stop in Game 5

BOSTON — Tuukka Rask appeared to give the Rangers life in Game 4 when he caught an edge, fell over and allowed Carl Hagelin to get New York back into that game and into the series. On Saturday night in Game 5, however, Rask took all the life out of the Rangers with one big save. New York captain Ryan Callahan got loose midway through the period with his team trailing 2-1 and walked...

(PHOTO: Twitter) Yes, the Bruins had a few brain farts and gave away Game Four to the New York Rangers. Yes, Tuukka Rask let in a goal that he soon rather forget. The slo-mo goal from hell was like watching a horror movie. You see the killer behind your lady and all you can do is scream….NOOOOOO!
