The past two days have been very good for Calgary Flames fans in regards to Alex Tanguay. Alex signed in Calgary as a UFA which surprised many in Flames nation. The hope was that Tanguay would be the play maker that could play with Jarome Iginla and after the past couple of days it appears the Flames could have been right on the money with this signing.
At the Red and White game Alex really showed the reason why he was brought to town dishes a couple of fantastic passes that led to goals. Then last night at home against the Vancouver Canucks Tanguay led the way for the Flames with a couple of assists in their split squad game, in which the Flames won both halves.
Of course it is far too early to call the signing of Alex Tanguay a genius maneuver just yet, however if Tanguay keeps showing this early chemistry with both Jarome Iginla and Olli Jokinen it could be a huge boost to a Flames offense that was dead last in the league last year.
Quick note on Matt Stajan. He hurt his shoulder...
