The Wolverines used four goals in the third period to defeat arch rival Michigan State 5-2 in the third place game of the Great Lakes Invitational from Joe Louis Arena. Sophomore forwards Phil Di Giuseppe and Zach Hyman and freshman forward Andrew Copp each had goals for the Spartans while senior defenseman Lee Moffie and senior forward Kevin Lynch also added to the Michigan offense with goals of their own. The Spartans got each of their two goals in the first period by way of sophomore forward Tanner Sorenson and sophomore forward Matt Berry. Michigan junior goaltender Adam Janecyk made 35 saves in the win. On the other side of the ice freshman goaltender Jake Hildebrand turned away 31 shots in the Spartan loss. h/t: CCHA.com
