Via Busted Coverage:

Don’t get me wrong, I like hockey. I miss the NHL and am beyond frustrated with the lockout. I’m all for fan statements against the league and against Gary Bettman, but in this instance I am not in support.
Xenia, Ohio, native and Pittsburgh Penguins fan Maggie Wagner is fed up with the lockout too and instead of becoming an NBA fan, she decided to grow out her leg hair until the NHL sorts this out.
Puck Daddy profiled Wagner today and her hairy idea came about back in September:
She started to wonder what small personal protest she could offer against the NHL shutting its doors. So on 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 15, Wagner vowed not to shave her legs until the players and owners cut a deal.
In theory it’s a great idea, a way to stick it to the NHL. But this photo disturbs me a bit:

Magner even tweeted the photo to the Predators Mike Fisher and the Kings Dustin Penner. To her credit, Fisher retweeted it moments later:
@mikefisher1212 sorry about you being out of a job... how about an RT for my lockout leg hair. 103 days and counting twitter.com/magwag87/statu…

Impressive, but quotes like this from the Puck Daddy interview leave a sour taste in my mouth:
I will consider shaving the thickest part of my leg hair and sending it to (Gary Bettman) in the event of a cancelled season, yes. I’d have to get their address though!
Almost makes me feel bad for Bettman…almost. She just got the address so Bettman better keep an eye out for a hairy envelope if the most recent CBA proposal doesn't go as planned.
Oh btw, Bettman's address to send your hair is 1251 Avenue of the Americas 47th Floor New York, NY 10020-1104 @magwag87

If you are an intern at the NHL League Offices this is your forewarning to quit before Bettman throws you on mail opening duties and you end up with a handful of leg hair.

As for the NHL...to be honest...WHO CARES if they play or not? Sure doesn't seem to be a lot people out there who do. No big stunk being raised about the lack of games. what does that tell the NHL players and owners? OOPs!
I think that the cities should fine them for every game missed since we the taxpayers have helped build the stadiums.
Let's see how fast they settle then!

This will probably lead to male fans shaving their legs in protest... but then...in Pittsburgh... they are probably doing that anyway.
