Ryan Callahan got it started with an early goal and Henrik Lundqvist brought it home with 30 saves as the New York Rangers jumped out to a big lead and held off the visiting Ottawa Senators 4-2 to take Game 1. Marian Gaborik, Brian Boyle and Brad Richards each added a goal and Artem Anisimov recorded a pair of assists for the top-seeded Rangers, who had dropped three of four to the Senators in the regular season. Callahan grabbed a rebound with his back to the goal on left side of the crease and spun to the inside, wristing a nifty goal past Ottawa netminder Craig Anderson to open the scoring with 7:59 left in the first. Gaborik scored unassisted with 3:36 left in the second. The All-Star stole the puck on a turnover on the left side and skated toward the slot, slowing behind the defense to fake out Anderson and sending it between the pads to make it 2-0.
