It wasn’t the best 60 minutes that the Bruins have played this season, that’s for sure. However, the two points earned count all the same, and that’s ultimately all that matters.
Shawn Thornton tapped in a key goal to cement the lead Boston was trying to protect, and Patrice Bergeron added an empty-netter to make sure of the victory. It was not a pretty game, but beauty isn’t a big concern in a shortened season where every point in an important one.
