After yesterday's game John Tortorella addressed why he scratched Stu Bickel in favor of Steve Eminger (via Bergen Record)..."I don't want to put Bick in a bad spot, because it's certainly not why we lost the last game. We put Emmy in because we just wanted to get to pucks quicker. We thought he may be able to get to pucks quicker. We've had a few struggles with our coverage. Bic's a hell of a story as far as what he's done for our hockey club this year. We tried it today. We'll look at the tape, and I'm not sure where we go with it for the next game."...i trusted Bickel in there all regular season. Never felt he looked out of place or over-matched. But for some reason Tortorella never felt comfortable with him in the playoffs and Bickel's fate was sealed after his bad giveaway against the Capitals in Game 2 as he barely saw the ice in any of the subsequent games. Highlighted by his three minutes of ice time in the Rangers epic three overtime Game 3 win against the Capitals....d...
