Fox - The Hockey Guy:
Winger Zach Parise has a once-in-a lifetime chance to get maximum dollars in unrestricted free agency.
He can write his own ticket. If he wants giant dollars up front in his new deal -- via a two-stage signing bonus for, say, $24 million -- he will get giant dollars up front.
That is why the New Jersey Devils failed to keep him off the market. As the Noon EDT July deadline neared, Lou Lamoriello took his best shot at securing Parise.
But the bid failed and Parise prepared to hear pitches from multiple suitors. Zach will still consider re-upping with the Devils, but that cash-strapped franchise will be hard-pressed to match the offers to come.
The Senators have already be ruled out of the running for Parise. The Penguins will be an interested party, but that franchise doesn't appear willing to pay the huge up-front price.

NHL free agency is underway, and nearly every team will be interested in making a run at Devils’ captain Zach Parise. The young left-winger guided his team to the Stanley Cup Finals last season, and will surely be getting a huge contract this offseason. Here is a look at the places he will most likely end up.
4. Minnesota Wild: Minnesotans are patiently waiting to see if the young...
Zach Parise has had us all waiting and he will continue to make us do so, at least for another day. Parise told reporters outside of Newport Sports Agency in Mississauga, where he and his agent, Wade Arnott, have been huddled up for the last two days, that he has not come to a conclusion as to where he wants to play and he needs more time.
He would not tell reporters which teams...
Twitter was about to explode around 4:30 on Monday afternoon with the imminent news of a statement by Zach Parise in several minutes. Parise waited until roughly 5:00 PM eastern time to announce that, there would essentially be no announcement, as noted by TSN's Mark Masters. Masters went on to report that Parise did not free pressure to make a choice and that he is still deciding...

via David Shoalts tweet, Parise says he will return home tomorrow and discuss things with his family. Would not say which teams in contention but Devils still in mix

Free agency is on the horizon and it’s old news that Devil’s captain and superstar Zach Parise is fronting the 2012 unrestricted free agent class. Although Parise has expressed his desire to remain a New Jersey Devil on countless occasions, it hasn’t stopped waves of rumors and speculation regarding where...
Zach Parise needed at least another night of sleep before picking a team to play for next season.
Parise said Tuesday that he hadn't made a decision and doesn't have a timetable for one soon after landing in his home state at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
''I'm back here to talk with my family and make sure that we've done all the work...
Let the bidding begin.
Zach Parise and Ryan Suter had a long list of suitors hoping to sign them when NHL free agency started Sunday afternoon.
Detroit coach Mike Babcock was part of a Red Wings contingent in the Toronto area to make a pitch to Parise, the top forward available, and his agent, Wade Arnott.
''We're going to get in the mix with him and see what we can...
from Michael Russo of the Star Tribune, The Wild can’t offer Zach Parise the chance to play alongside Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin the way the Pittsburgh Penguins can. It can’t offer Zach Parise a rich history of winning the way the Detroit Red Wings can.
What the Wild can offer the New Jersey Devils captain and Minnesota native is a chance to play in front of friends and...
The New Jersey Devils have signed future Hall Of Famer Martin Brodeur to a two-year contract extension worth 4.5 million dollars per season.
The Devils now await word from Zach Parise to see if their Captain will re-join the team for next year and beyond.
I'll have more on the Brodeur signing plus any other Devils news later on today or tomorrow.
No fireworks for Sabres fans on Canada Day... Yet.
The Zach Parise and Ryan Suter sweepstakes will rage on deep into Sunday night, Monday morning.
Phase 1 of the "free agent frenzy" saw third and fourth liners, and, back up goalies switch teams.
The creme de le creme still remain. Nash, Ryan, Malone, Parentau are still in play.
Caveat: Just because you are...
There are big names floating around already this summer. And with free agency beginning today, I wouldn't mind some of them becoming a member of the blue and gold.
If the Sabres could land someone like Zach Parise, or make a move to acquire Bobby Ryan, that would be great. I don't expect that Buffalo will, so I've come up with a few players that could benefit the Sabres...
Well, the Wings are done for the day. Safe to say I'm surprised by a couple of the guys we got. Not too surprised about the Gustavsson signing. Happy about all of them in a way. I guess. I wonder what it must have been like to be in the Red Wings front office today. I imagine it was a bit crazy. Actually, I imagine it was a lot crazy. So crazy I decided to make a story about...
There was no Ryan Suter. There was no Rick Nash. There was no Zach Parise walking through that door.
For anyone who was expecting the Ottawa Senators to make a splash through free agency or a trade, you probably went to bed last night disappointed that the organization didn’t improve itself exponentially over the course of one day.
It’s the dreadfully naïve and unrealistic...
Congrats to former Sabre spiritual leader, Paul Gaustad.
The predators signed Gaustad to a new four year, $13 million contract on Saturday night, thus preventing the burly centreman from hitting the open UFA market.
So, Zach Parise was in Toronto last night. He'll meet with the half dozen teams that covet him beginning at Noon today. That is, IF he declares...
