Hurricanes Sign Matt Tennyson

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenseman Matt Tennyson to a one-year, two-way contract, according to the team. Tennyson had spent the first five seasons of his professional hockey career with the San Jose Sharks organization. The deal will pay Tennyson $675,000 in the NHL and $275,000 in the AHL. Blues forward Reaves suspended 3 games for hit on Tennyson

NEW YORK (AP) The NHL has suspended St. Louis Blues forward Ryan Reaves for three games without pay for a blindside hit into the boards that injured San Jose defenseman Matt Tennyson. The punishment announced by the NHL's department of player safety on Wednesday will cost Reaves more than $18,000 in salary. The hit occurred in the first period of the Sharks 6-3 win on Monday....
