Throughout the 2013-2014 NHL season, I’ll be posting player features each Friday. This week, we’re going to take a look at Taylor Pyatt.
After missing a decent amount of time this season due to a concussion, forward Taylor Pyatt was claimed off waivers from the New York Rangers in early January. The 32-year-old...

With the flowing locks of Kris Letang spending a significant amount of time on the IR this season and family man Pascal Dupuis undergoing surgery for an ACL injury, General Manager Ray...
The Pittsburgh Penguins have claimed forward Taylor Pyatt off waivers, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Pyatt, 32, has played the past two seasons with the New York Rangers, collecting 12 points (6G-6A) in 70 regular-season games. He had four points (2G-2A) in 12 playoff games with the Rangers last spring.

The Pittsburgh Penguins got a little bigger on Thursday afternoon. The team announced that they claimed forward Taylor Pyatt off waivers from the New York Rangers. Pyatt, 32, is listed at 6-foot-4 and weighs 235 pounds. He is now one of the tallest players on the roster and is the heaviest player on the Penguins. Pyatt has really struggled this...
The Taylor Pyatt era in New York has come to an end. The Pittsburgh Penguins have claimed the winger off waivers, absolving the Rangers of his $1.55 million cap hit and clearing a spot on the 50 man reserve list. Over his 70 games for the Rangers, Pyatt was a pretty big disappointment, putting together a line of 6-6-12 over the season and a half.
Per Larry Brooks, the Rangers have placed forward Taylor Pyatt on waivers. Pyatt has been a big disappointment this season and hasn’t played a game since the December 12 loss to Columbus. Pyatt has just one assist in his 22 games this season, while being a negative Corsi player (42.7% Corsi) with 34.5% offensive zone starts. As Kevin said this morning, it appears that Pyatt’s...
Per Pat Leonard, it looks like Taylor Pyatt and John Moore will be healthy scratches for the second straight game. AV is a coach that doesn’t like to change things up following a win, so this is relatively unexpected.
Also per Leonard, Cam Talbot will start tonight in net. This will be the first time Talbot starts two straight games. Talbot has not allowed more than two goals in...
Taylor Pyatt has not been a successful addition
The Rangers were particularly sloppy against the Coyotes and were outdueled in net and on special teams but no one will panic after one game that came on the heels of an awkward, disjointed preseason. That said there are a few players who are surely on shaky ground. One particular player who doesn’t figure to be part of the future...
When the Rangers traded Michal Rozsival to Phoenix in 2011, I – being one of the much-maligned Czech defenseman’s few supporters in Ranger circles – of course decided to keep tabs on him. So I ended up watching a fair number of Coyotes games, in the process familiarizing myself with much of their roster. While [...]

… Pyatt is doing all the right things for this Rangers club out on the ice. He is attacking the puck from both sides of the ice and as you can see from last night’s goal, he is getting in front of the net and breaking off at the right time to take a nice [...]
