Andre Ayew has been named in the five-man shortlist for 2012 CAF Footballer of the Year Award Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew has made the five-man shortlist for the 2012 Glo-CAF Footballer of the Year Award. The 22-year-old was named alongside Cameroonian Alexandre Song, Demba Ba from Senegal and the Ivorian duo of Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure at a brief ceremony in Accra. The Olympique Marseille player earns his second straight nomination following his consistent displays for both club and country. Ayew came third in last year’s award after coming behind Mali’s Seydou Keita and the eventual winner Yaya Toure. The final event will be held on December 20 at the State banquet Hall in Accra.
