PLAYERS: Roy HodgsonJohn Terry
England coach Roy Hodgson says he hopes Chelsea defender John Terry is cleared by the English Football Association of racially abusing Queens Park Rangers player Anton Ferdinand. Speaking at a press conference ahead of England's friendly against Italy on Wednesday, Hodgson said he hoped Terry's name is cleared. Hodgson says ''I'm hoping, and I make no secret of that, the case will take its course, that John, hopefully, will be freed'' and that he ''will carry on playing for England.'' In July, Terry was found not guilty of racial abuse by a British court, but the FA is yet to conclude its own investigation into the incident that took place during a Premier League game in October 2011.
