Champions League: Breaking Down the Draw
AC Milan vs. Barcelona:
One of the marquee match-ups of the round of 16. Milan and Barcelona are two of Europe’s most storied clubs. Milan has the playmakers up front to make things interesting, but Barcelona has too much firepower for an overmatched Milan back-line. Milan will miss Nigel de Jong in the defensive third and will have a difficult time containing Messi.
Prediction...
The enduring Andrea Pirlo hungry for more European success
In his early thirties and unable to secure a new contract with AC Milan, the club which he had served for a good decade in Serie A, people were wondering where the midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo would go from there. Andrea Pirlo's 'Panenka' Penalty Kick Is Defining Moment of Euro 2012's First Iconic Game (Video)
The 2012 UEFA European Championship has been an enjoyable spectacle of the beautiful game. But after 24 group-stage and three quarterfinal games, Euro 2012 was missing a defining game (or moment) that fans would be talking about for years to come. That changed on Sunday. England and Italy were in the midst of a dramatic penalty-kick shootout following 120 minutes of goalless action...
Andrea Pirlo scoring like a sir against England
Andrea Pirlo took England to school the other day, from the first minute of the game to his brilliantly executed penalty which was a perfect example of pure class. He was incredible in the midfield throughout the game but that penalty was one of the craziest, filthiest and most awesome penalties I’ve ever seen. With Joe Hard lunging to his right, Pirlo was cool and put a tiny little...

Pirlo’s Amazing PK
Italy defeated England in a PK shootout, 4-2 and will face Germany in the semi-finals. Today’s match had plenty of stars on the pitch, but one stood out. No, not Buffon … although he made the timely saves to ensure the victory. It was Italy’s Andrea Pirlo, the man who gave English goalkeeper Joe Hart a story to tell to his children and grandchildren.
What an outstanding performance...
Andrea Pirlo Can Take 'Pass Master' Title From Xavi With Euro 2012 Triumph
The inventory of Andrea Pirlo's trophy cabinet reads like a grocery list of soccer's most prestigious competitions. However, there remains one glaring omission from the pass-master's list of accomplishments: a UEFA European Championship. "Understated" is an understatement when applied to the man dubbed "l'Architetto" and "Il Metronomo"...
Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio: Midfield Duo Behind Italy’s and Juventus’s Surge?
Former Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo made the move to Juventus this summer on a free transfer in what should be his last contract with an elite club. Pirlo now joins an exclusive list of players who have represented Italy’s three most prestigious clubs, Inter, Juve and Milan.
