Many NBA pundits thought the Lakers had a shot at signing Carmelo Anthony as a free agent in 2014 because his wife, La La Vasquez, is an actress who often works out of the area. Certainly the most famous power couple in hockey, Wayne Gretzky and actress wife Janet have been married since 1988. Dating Tony Romo in 2007, many joked that singer Jessica Simpson would jinx the Cowboys quarterback whenever she watched him play live, as he would always seem to have a bad game. Even President George W. Bush endorsed the “Jessica jinx.” Simpson and Romo ended their relationship in 2009.

Although not well-known in the U.S., Pakistani cricket player Shoaib Malik and pro tennis player Sania Mirza are one of the most famous sports couples in India. Malik and Mirza have been married since 2010.

Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett and Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson married in 2009. The couple had two children together, but their union is over.

Singer and actress Hilary Duff and former NHL player Mike Comrie were married from 2010 to 2014. The two had a son together and are now divorced but are reportedly on good terms.

Five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova and two-time NBA champion Sasha Vujacic were engaged to be married in 2011. The wedding never happened, however, as the two separated in 2012.

Although her tennis career was largely a disappointment, Anna Kournikova and hockey great Sergei Fedorov certainly didn’t lack any star power when they were together. The two were allegedly married in 2001 but allegedly divorced two years later.
