Saturday night, TCU came up just short of knocking off #7 Texas with a final score of 29-26. The Horned Frogs fell to 4-6 as the dreams of a bowl game have almost completely faded away. The postgame press conference consisted of head coach  Sonny Dykes , Josh Hoover , Savion Williams , and Abe Camara answering questions about the tough loss.

While Hoover, Williams, and Camara were optimistic about the final two games of the season, one statement from wide receiver Savion Williams raised questions among the TCU reporters and journalists in the room.

When asked how confident the team was going into the game against a Top-10 opponent, Williams responded:

This type of statement coming from a veteran player and leader on the team raises concerns about the culture that Coach Dykes supposedly instilled in players last year. While it is worth noting that TCU lost many of its premier players to the NFL Draft after last season, the expectation for the Horned Frogs in 2023 was that Coach Dykes and his staff would be able to reload many of its offensive weapons with ease.

The next question Coach Dykes will have on his mind is how, if possible, he can eliminate this mindset in time for the last two games of the season. Coach Dykes said in the press conference Saturday night that he was already fired up to play Baylor due to his team's intensity in the second half of the game against Texas.

TCU’s remaining schedule previews two wildly different teams with the 3-7 Baylor Bears coming to town next week, with the final regular season game being in Norman against a strong 8-2 Oklahoma team.
