At the end of Happy Gilmore, which was released in 1996, the movie's villain, Shooter McGavin, falls short of winning the Gold Jacket.
In the film, McGavin had his sights set on the coveted prize that is earned by winning the Tour Championship, but was denied after losing to Gilmore, who needed a miraculous shot to top his arch-nemesis.
But 29 years later, McGavin finally has his Gold Jacket.
In a video posted to social media, Sandler is seen handing over the Gold Jacket to Christopher McDonald, who plays McGavin, while filming the movie.
"Shooter finally gets what's coming to him," Sandler wrote in the post on X.

"Shooter, they got you a gift, we hope you wear this one," Sandler says to McDonald in the video.
McDonald returned to reprise his role in Happy Gilmore 2, but (spoiler alert) there is a very different relationship between his character and Gilmore after they were enemies in the first film.
McDonald recently revealed to ESPN that he was lobbying Sandler to make the sequel ever since the first one came out.
"I've been campaigning for about 29 years to get this thing done," he said.
"It's brought a lot of laughs and joy to people over the years," McDonald added. "That's the blessing of a film like this. And I don't think, like I say, any of us expected it. It just happened that way.
"And over the moon to be happy making a sequel when people love the movie so much. And I think we stayed true to the first one."
Happy Gilmore 2 dropped on Friday and can be watched on Netflix.
