Bebe Rexha plays coy about famous women she's dated, 'even though people would be living for it'

Bebe Rexha will debut her sophomore studio album Better Mistakes at midnight (May 7), but the Grammy-nominated pop star does not consider her explorative romantic history to be a mistake.

Nor should she.

"Have I gone out with girls before? Yes," Rexha told the Gay Times for a new profile by Nick Levine. "Have I dated girls? Yes, I have. And famous ones, but I'm not naming them. Even though people would be living for it–no! Have I fallen in love with a girl before? Yes. But right now, I'm in a relationship with a guy."

Rexha, who has been dating filmmaker Keyan Safyari since last year, added: "The only thing I will say is that when I'm in a relationship with a girl, it's just too emotional. The power ... I personally cannot deal with that. It's just so hard [to label my sexuality] because everybody wants to put people in boxes and I don't like boxes, as you can tell with my music. Like, I don't like boxes whatsoever."

Rexha, unfortunately, was made to defend her comments on Twitter:

The 31-year-old blew up after her 2017 "Meant to Be" track featuring Florida Georgia Line. The cross-genre tune hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and she dropped her debut studio album Expectations in June 2018. She has released singles "Sacrifice" and "Sabotage" leading up to Friday's album release:

Along with Better Mistakes, out via Warner Records, Rexha is revealing her music video for "Break My Heart Myself" featuring Travis Barker. Check out the teaser below.
