Eric Bana's Hit Netflix Thriller Is Already Coming Back for Season 2

Although you may not have watched it, one of the biggest shows on Netflix is the just-released mystery-thriller Untamed. Currently the number 3 show on Netflix, Untamed stars Eric Bana as a special agent at Yosemite National Park named Kyle Turner, as well as Sam Neill as Paul Soute, a park ranger, and Rosemarie DeWitt as Jill Bodwin. The whole show is a big murder mystery case, and originally, it was billed as a six-part miniseries.

But after a strong start, on July 17, Untamed has already been renewed for a second season. "The drama set within Yosemite National Park premiered to strong ratings and critical acclaim when it launched on July 17, leading to its speedy renewal," according to a report from Variety.

When will Untamed Season 2 stream on Netflix?

As of this writing, it's unclear exactly when the just-announced Untamed Season 2 will be released. “I am absolutely thrilled that we get the chance to bring another season of ‘Untamed’ to life," star Eric Bana said in a statement.

Showrunners Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith have not yet confirmed the release date for Season 2.

How to Watch Untamed Season 1

The first season of Untamed consists of a total of six episodes. All six of those episodes hit Netflix on July 17, 2025, and are currently streaming. While the primary mystery of Season 1 was mostly wrapped up in the finale, the last episode did leave open more questions about the lurking dangers in the park. Clearly, there's plenty of material for Season 2.
