'Gen V' star Jaz Sinclair says that the tone of season 2 is "a little bit darker"

While receiving the Golden Nymph award for Most Promising Talent during the Monte-Carlo TV Festival's opening night, Gen V star Jaz Sinclair spoke about the highly anticipated second season of the Prime Video series.

"The tone is a little bit darker, at least at the start," the actress, who plays Marie Moreau, explained. "It’s still just as funny, and there’s love and stuff, but I think overall, our characters have been through so much now that we’re a little bit more jaded."

In Season Two, school is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.

She continued to express, "I love the satire element of it. I love the political elements. I love that our show isn’t scared to touch on taboo things."

The rest of the cast includes Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor as Jordan Li, Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, and Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher.

Showrunner Michele Fazekas executive produces alongside Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, Ori Marmur, Thomas Schnauz, Steve Boyum, and Brant Engelstein. Loreli Alanís, Gabriel Garcia, and Jessica Chou are co-executive producers.

Season 2 of The Boys' spin-off will premiere on Wednesday, September 17, with the first three episodes. After that, new episodes will be released weekly, leading up to the season finale on Wednesday, October 22.
