'Ginny & Georgia' renewed for second season on Netflix

Ginny & Georgia was one of Netflix's breakout hits when it debuted earlier this year and the mother-daughter drama is officially getting a second season.

The show centered around the titular mom and daughter, with Ginny (played by Antonia Gentry), the wise beyond her years 15-year-old, and Georgia (played by Brianne Howey), the 30-year-old still figuring out this whole parenting thing, settling in a New England town in hopes of getting a fresh start in life. The show was an immediate hit with viewers and received mostly positive reviews from critics.

"We are so appreciative of the incredible response and love you all have shown Ginny & Georgia," showrunner and executive producer Debra J. Fisher and creator/executive producer Sarah Lampert said in a joint statement. "We're especially grateful to Brianne and Toni, who set the highest bar every step of the way. We can't wait to return to Wellsbury for Season 2."

The second season will feature 10 hourlong episodes but considering the announcement was just made, there's no clear timeline when the new season will actually show up on Netflix. Though, you can probably assume it will be sometime in 2022.
