JoJo Siwa celebrates one year since coming out: 'I’ve felt more love than ever'

Siwa later clarified the label she best identifies with in terms of her sexuality last April, while opening up to People about her then-girlfriend, Kylie Prew.

"I still don't know what I am," she said then. "It's like, I want to figure it out. And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I'm Ky-sexual. But like, I don't know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool. I like queer. Technically I would say that I am pansexual because that's how I have always been my whole life is just like, my human is my human."

Siwa announced she and Prew broke up in early November but noted, "she is literally still my best friend."

Professionally, Siwa made Dancing with the Stars history alongside Jenna Johnson as the first same-sex couple to compete on ABC's popular dance competition series in its landmark 30th season last fall. They finished in second place.
