Matthew McConaughey admits one of his 'Sing 2' costars was his first celebrity crush

Matthew McConaughey is happily married to Camila Alves, but roughly 20 years ago, he was crushing hard on Reese Witherspoon.

McConaughey and Witherspoon visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday (Dec. 16) to promote Sing 2, and DeGeneres asked them to identify their first celebrity crushes.

"Jim Morrison from The Doors," Witherspoon responded first, noting she was 13. "I was a weird kid. I was a really weird. The Doors movie had just come out, and I was [like],  'Oh, he's so hot.' So, I guess it was Val Kilmer [as Jim Morrison]."

"I did have a little bit of a crush on the young lady sitting to the left of me from The Man in the Moon," McConaughey revealed. "One of my early, early crushes, and if you've seen the movie, you see, I mean, inevitable. I mean, what's not to have a crush on? It's true. True story."

The Man in the Moon (1991) is Witherspoon's very first acting credit.

Witherspoon, who has been married to Jim Toth since 2011, costarred with McConaughey in the musical animated comedy Sing in 2016.

McConaughey and Witherspoon reprised their voiceover roles of Buster Moon and Rosita, respectively, for Sing 2. The movie hits theaters Dec. 22. Watch the trailer below.
