There is no stopping Yorgos Lanthimos, who seems to be in his bag right now with his latest film, Kinds of Kindness, hitting theaters this week following the success of his previous movie, Poor Things, which won four Oscars at this year's Academy Awards.
It has now been revealed that his next feature, Bugonia, will hit theaters on November 7, 2025, and will be titled Bugonia.
Based on the South Korean sci-fi comedy Save the Green Planet!, Bugonia's official synopsis reads:
Two conspiracy obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.
Lanthimos will re-team with long-term collaborator Emma Stone on the project, also reuniting with Kinds of Kindness star Jesse Plemons.
Plemons recently won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival for his performances in Kinds of Kindness, a film that currently sits at 75% on Rotten Tomatoes based on critic reviews.
The six-time Emmy-winning screenwriter behind episodes of Succession and The Regime, Will Tracy, is on board to pen the script. It will be his second feature screenplay following the success of his first, The Menu, which was praised for its wit and intellect.
Hereditary and Midsommar's Ari Aster is also on board as a producer, alongside Francis Chung, Ed Guiney, Lars Knudsen, Andrew Lowe, Emma Stone and Lanthimos himself.
Young Ki Cho, Jerry Kyoungboum Ko and Miky Lee serve as executive producers.
