Ryan Reynolds has revealed what his favorite superhero movie of all time is, and no, it’s not his 2011 film Green Lantern.
In an interview with Total Film, the actor talked about how his first film in the Deadpool series released in 2016 - the same year as Hugh Jackman’s final (at the time) outing as Wolverine in Logan.
"The movies were quite congruent with each other at that point," Reynolds said. "Deadpool was different, and then right after Logan was potentially the greatest comic-book adaptation ever made."
Now the pair form an unlikely partnership in Deadpool and Wolverine, which is out July 25 and predicted to be the biggest box office success of the year.
It’s a massive turnaround for Jackman, whose debut outing as Wolverine dates back to 2000’s X-Men. "We were on the low-tide version of that genre," Jackman says in the interview. "It’d gone way up with the Batman movies and fizzled out. But when the X-Men came in, people felt like it represented the source material about giving voice to the marginalized."
24 years later, Jackman reprises his role. But will it be as good as his turn in Logan? You can decide for yourself on July 25.
