When it was first announced that ESPN was having Timothee Chalamet on "College GameDay" for this weekend's show, SEC fans were furious. They thought he'd be nothing more than a clueless guest who was there to promote his new movie, "A Complete Unknown."
While Chalamet certainly wore a sweatshirt to promote his upcoming film, he proved on Saturday that he wasn't ever interested in mailing it in on "College GameDay." During the show's pick'em segment, he came out firing with statistics about Jackson State's football team. He then showed Ohio quarterback Parker Navarro some love while talking about the MAC Championship.
Towards the end of the pick'em segment, all the people who questioned Chalamet's football knowledge praised him for being prepared.
Heck, some people are even saying Chalamet is the best celebrity guest picker in the history of "College GameDay." Maybe that's recency bias, but we can't deny how great the "Dune" actor was on ESPN's set.

"Timothee Chalamet came prepared , researched, and referenced the Pony Express," NFL analyst Peter Schrager said. "Maybe the best College Gameday guest picker yet. NYC guy. Respect.
"So basically, Timothée Chalamet has done more college football research for this one episode of "College Gameday" than Pat McAfee has done his entire time on the show," Will Leitch wrote on X.
"Timothee Chalamet being a real deal college football fan, being a SMU fan, and knowing about all these teams was so crazy to me. I thought just invited cause famous, but he was a legit great guest picker on College Gameday," Chris Vernon said.
Another fan said, "Alright, I'm gonna give credit where it's due... Timothee Chalamet was a solid guest picker. Pleasantly surprised."
Rece Davis already joked about bringing Chalamet back on the show in the near future. After seeing his performance today, we'd imagine fans would be in favor of an encore.
If you're keeping score at home, Chalamet picked Jackson State, Ohio, Arizona State, SMU, Oregon and Texas to win their conference title games.
Movie fans already refer to Chalamet as "Lisan al Gaib." Football fans might do the same if he goes 6-0 this weekend.
