Tom Holland acknowledges James Bond rumors: "It's the pinnacle of working in our industry"

Tom Holland is doing just fine these days. He's one of the stars of Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," and he's got his next Spider-Man movie, "Brand New Day," for which he has a fancy new suit. And yet, rumors have been a-brewing that, should he want, he could be part of another massive film institution. The next James Bond now has a director in Denis Villenueve and a screenwriter in Stephen Knight. What the movie doesn't have is a James Bond. When the first speculative favorites hit the internets, among the actors in the mix was Holland. So, is the interest mutual? Very much so!

Holland acknowledged that he's not in the proverbial cave on Mars with his eyes shut and his fingers in his ears, saying, "Listen, there’s speculation at the moment. We’ll keep it to a minimum for now. We’ll get there one day." However, he also expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of being Bond. "Dude, I mean every young British actor, it’s the pinnacle of working in our industry," he proclaimed.

That being said, he has also recently said in an interview, "You can’t be in every movie, and you can’t do your best work when you’re burnt out." Holland also added,"I’ve got a slightly busy year next year, and then I’ll probably take a bit more time off in 2027. We’ll see."

And therein lies one of the reasons we feel like, of the rumored Bond names, Holland is highly unlikely to be the choice. He's Spider-Man! He's a busy dude! Plus, he doesn't really have a James Bond vibe, and we can't really envision him getting there as an actor. It feels like Holland's name may have been included just to throw fuel on the fire of speculation. He's quite popular with the youth. Then again, if Amazon just wants attention for its first Bond movie, casting Holland would do just that. If he isn't too busy working or too busy resting, at least.
